My goal in the work of therapy, is to help identify the blocks which keep clients from living the life and having the relationships they want to be having.  Whether it is with significant others, or family, friends, or coworkers most people bring to their current relationships the patterns and dynamics of past relationships, which may or may not contribute to dissatisfaction in them.  And, while the past cannot be changed, therapy provides an opportunity both to experience understanding and healing from painful circumstances and relationships of the past, and to have the support to make choices to to be in life and relationships differently.  In the context of the therapy relationship - group, individual, couple, or family, one can come to understand one's own long-standing behavior patterns and strategize how to do things differently - all towards the goal of finding more fulfillment, joy and serenity, in life.  It is my strong belief, that the work of therapy, and of having relationships, if embraced, can lead towards a more fulfilling life.
